TP-Link details its Wi-Fi 8 Archer 8 Ultra and Deco 8 Ultra devices with 19 Gbps and 10 Gbps ports
We are still in the middle of IFA 2026, in this case, reviewing the news that TP-Link has brought to Berlin. The has shown us the technical details of its first batch of devices compatible with WiFi 8. Unlike the previous generational leap focused on increasing performance, the new standard prioritizes signal reliability and latency reduction in environments where there are many connected devices.
What TP-Link has prepared pivots around two very distinct proposals that share a maximum combined wireless rate of 19 Gbps under the BN19000 designation. On the one hand, the traditional router Archer 8 Ultra seeks to maximize performance wired and wireless in a single central location. On the other hand, the Deco 8 Ultra kit uses mesh networks to cover very large spaces. Both systems debut the WiFi 8 StabilityEngine to redistribute radio frequency resources and avoid interference. The TP-Link Archer 8 Ultra is a tri-band router with 18 antennas and a 10 Gbps SFP+ combo connector
The Archer 8 Ultra distributes its theoretical 19 Gbps over three different frequencies: 11,528 Mbps in the 6 GHz band, 5,764 Mbps in the 5 GHz and 1,376 Mbps in the conventional 2.4 GHz. To project the signal across multiple floors without adding secondary repeaters, the chassis integrates 18 internal high-gain antennas.
Physical connectivity includes a 10Gbps SFP+/RJ45 combo port, complemented by another dedicated 10Gbps RJ45 socket and four 2.5Gbps connections.

Local traffic management is supported by the Aireal smart assistanta software module that diagnoses performance drops and reassigns quality of service (QoS) priorities in real time to prevent saturation.

The front of the device adds an NFC contact area that allows phones and tablets to be linked by simply bringing the device closer to the chassis. The integration of this NFC chip eliminates the need for passwords during the guest connection process.

The TP-Link Deco 8 Ultra is a mesh system for 910 square meters and more than 200 devices
Thinking about large homes, TP-Link proposes the Deco 8 Ultra in packages of three nodes capable of covering up to 910 square meters. The system uses the StabilityEngine algorithm to coordinate the jump between beacons without microbreaks, emulating the stability of a wired network.

The mesh architecture supports more than 200 simultaneous devices, channeling traffic from home automation sensors, consoles and computers without generating congestion.

Like the individual router, each Deco 8 Ultra node reaches 19 Gbps in wireless transmission and has 10 Gbps wired connections to create high-speed trunk links.

Perimeter security is managed through the HomeShield suite, compatible with the Google Home and Amazon Alexa home automation ecosystems. Again, each node incorporates its own NFC tag on the shell, streamlining the addition of new terminals to the distributed network without manually configuring parameters.
