NVIDIA’s new 616.92 WHQL drivers arrive with gaming improvements and several bug fixes

A couple of days ago we knew that NVIDIA was preparing an RTX 5070 with the GB203 GPU instead of the usual GB205. Furthermore, in the same post they told us how the drivers that will allow compatibility with this new model would be available on the same day, September 9. And so it has been, NVIDIA has launched the new version of the drivers 616.92 WHQLalthough the list of new features does not include support for this supposed new RTX 5070 model with a GB203 GPU.

NVIDIA 616.92 WHQL adds support for new games

The list of new features includes new titles arriving compatible with NVIDIA DLSS scaling technology and other technologies possible thanks to these RTX cards. The update mainly adds a better user experience in the game 007 First Lightadding ray tracing to improve lighting and reflection effects. It also has support for other games that will have NVIDIA technologies such as:

• matter
• Cheer up
• PUBG
• WARDOGS

NVIDIA solves several problems in its new drivers

But NVIDIA with this version has also taken the opportunity to fix some known issues. Problems that were present in other versions of the drivers such as:

• Fixed intermittent flickering in browsers when visiting certain web pages.
• Fixed an issue that prevented creating virtual screens after updating to 616.56 drivers.
• Fixed an issue that showed a black screen when starting an RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) session after updating the driver to version 616.56.

In addition to these problems that NVIDIA has solved with this new version of the drivers, it has also left a list of known issues that NVIDIA has detected and that will be solved in later versions. These are:

• Maximum performance power mode may not be applied correctly.
• Assassin’s Creed Shadows may close unexpectedly and exit to the desktop after playing for a while with the 616.56 drivers.
• Judgment, Lost Judgment, and Virtua Fighter 5 REVO may crash on startup after updating to 616.56 drivers.
