The Apple A20 Pro SoC is leaked at 2nm, revealing a 7-core GPU

Although there are still a couple of days before the Apple event scheduled for September 9, the first real photograph of the chip has appeared. Apple A20 Pro. This is the company’s first processor manufactured in 2 nanometers, which also introduces some interesting changes compared to the A19 Pro.

The image, leaked on the Chinese portal Weibo, shows some changes in the packaging and distribution of internal elements, using technology WMCM (Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module). In this system, the memory chips are placed right next to the processor instead of on top, thus expanding the bus to 96 bits in LPDDR5.

According to the leaked data, the CPU maintains 6 cores, with two high-performance cores with 16 MB L2 cache each and four low-power cores with 8 MB L2. However, it is the GPU where the biggest jump in performance is found to the go up to 7 cores for the first time.
