The autonomy of mobile phones skyrockets: the Honor 500 Pro leaks with a spectacular 8,000 mAh battery

The upcoming Honor 500 series, which is expected to debut soon in China, has just suffered a major leak. The details, coming from the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, reveal the specifications of the Pro model. Although the devices can now be reserved, the leak reveals a notable jump in one of its key components: the battery.

According to the report, the Honor 500 Pro will integrate a 8,000 mAh silicon battery. This figure practically doubles the capacity of many current flagships and, if confirmed, would mark a new milestone in the race to improve the autonomy of high-end devices. To manage this capability, the phone would also include a E2 power management chip personalized.

An upward trend: 7,000 mAh is no longer a rarity

This leak confirms a trend that is consolidating in the sector. Manufacturers seem to be betting big on high-capacity batteries, and Honor is not alone in this race. 7,000 mAh is becoming an increasingly common figure in the high range.

Recently, Oppo presented its Find X9 and X9 Pro, devices that already included batteries greater than 7,000 mAh. Similarly, the Realme GT8 Pro also hit that same 7,000 mAh mark. The leak of the Honor 500 Pro, however, ups the ante by 1,000 mAh above its direct competitors.

Beyond the battery, the Honor 500 Pro aims to be a top-level terminal. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoCaccompanied by configurations that will reach the 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB internal storage. The device would also feature a custom C1 modem.

In the multimedia section, the leak mentions a 6.55 inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a high resolution of 2736 x 1264 pixels. On the back, the device will mount a sensor 200 MP main cameraalso situated in the high photographic range. Finally, it is expected to include a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
