Qualcomm renews its mid-range with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4: more CPU, much more GPU and 200 MP cameras

Qualcomm has presented its new mobile platform, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. This processor, manufactured in a 4nm architectureis designed to enhance the mid-range. The company highlights a performance increase significant compared to the previous generation, with a 36% faster CPU and, above all, a 59% more powerful GPU.

This leap in graphical performance seeks to improve the gaming experience. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 offers support for displays with FHD+ resolution at 144FPS. Additionally, it includes technologies such as Variable Rate Shadingwhich optimizes graphics performance, and Qualcomm Game Quick Touchdesigned for reduce touch latency and improve the response of the controls.

Support for 200 MP and advanced connectivity

In the photographic section, the processor integrates a dual 12-bit Qualcomm Spectra ISP. This setting allows you to capture photos of up to 200 megapixelspreserving detail when zooming. Also supports video recording 2K HDR at 30 FPS and slow motion video at 720p and 240 FPS. Includes hardware multi-frame noise reduction (MFNR) to improve clarity in low light conditions.

Connectivity is another of the strong points of the new chip. It incorporates the Qualcomm 5G Modem-RF system, which offers 5G version 16 (Release 16) with support for mmWave and sub-6 GHz bands, reaching download speeds of up to 2.9 Gbps. As for local connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.

The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is built with an eight-core Kryo CPU, divided into four performance cores at 2.4 GHz and four efficiency cores at 1.8 GHz. It is compatible with memory LP-DDR5x RAM up to 12 GB and UFS 3.1 storage. The set is completed with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology.
