The end of an era has arrived: the iPhone X is already an obsolete device for Apple
All screen design, notchFace ID and, above all, a decade since the arrival of the iPhone. All that, and much more, is what Apple’s launch of the iPhone X left us with. Unfortunately, no matter how epic that device was, time passes and does not forgive. Therefore, as confirmed by the company, from now on, the iPhone X (also other devices, such as the 15-inch MacBook Pro marketed in 2018) now appears on the official list of obsolete devices.
What does this mean for owners of one of these iPhones? Basically, the cessation definitive of physical repairs and any official supplies that are necessary to fix the equipment.
Vintage devices vs. obsolete devices
It must be remembered that the company’s post-warranty support policy clearly distinguishes between two categories according to the time elapsed since the end of its commercial distribution. On the one hand, there are the equipment that Apple calls vintage or old. Until recently, the iPhone X belonged to this group. They are those whose sales ceased more than five years ago, but less than seven.
In this state, Apple maintains technical assistance conditional on the availability of spare parts in warehouse, allowing key components to be repaired if there is still factory inventory. As you can see, the possibilities of repairing vintage equipment are high, although they are not always guaranteed because, in reality, the company has already stopped renewing the stock of parts.

Upon reaching this threshold, the company definitively discards any hardware service, regardless of whether it is in stock or not. The availability of the components, in this case, is irrelevant and is not taken into account. This measure affects both the official Apple Store stores and the network of repair shops authorized by the manufacturer.
The list of obsolete products is much longer and goes back to the first models launched by Apple almost two decades ago. In addition, it must be taken into account that the loss of repair support for these computers coincides with the closure of their operating system update cycle.
