The LG xboom Blast now arrives in stores with 220 W of power and IP68 certification

LG has already begun global distribution of its most durable portable speaker, the xboom blasta model that the company had shown at the beginning of the year along with the rest of its new range of speakers, but which until now had not effectively reached the first markets. The December announcement made clear LG’s intentions with this product; what comes Now it is confirmation that this speaker is really starting to be availablewith specific data on its resistance, its dimensions and its behavior outside the home.

The xboom Blast is located within the renewed xboom family as the model specifically designed to leave the living room. It is not the most karaoke-oriented nor the most compact in the range, but rather the one that LG has designed to accompany camping outings, terraces or outdoor meetings where the nearest plug may be quite a distance away.

Power of 220 W and autonomy of up to 36 hours

On paper, the xboom Blast delivers up to 220 W of powera high figure for a speaker that is still transportable, although it is far from being light. LG has equipped the device with a replaceable 99 Wh battery, which promises up to 36 hours of continuous playbackan autonomy designed to cover full days without the need to recharge the equipment.

One of the data that draws the most attention is the loss of power when the speaker runs exclusively on battery: As explained by the company, the xboom Blast maintains up to 210 W of the nominal 220 W even disconnected from the powera minimal difference that in practice means that the user can take it away from home without giving up a good part of its maximum power. This relationship between plugged-in power and battery power is not always taken care of in this type of device, where it is common for disconnection from the electrical grid to imply a much more notable reduction in performance.

IP68 certification and MIL-STD testing for outdoor use

The xboom Blast has IP68 certification against water and dustthe highest level available in this type of sealing and, as LG has explained, it has passed seven durability tests based on the MIL-STD military standard. This type of certification is especially relevant in a speaker designed for camping, beaches or gardens, environments where exposure to knocks, dust, sand or splashes is much more likely than in conventional domestic use.

Regarding the design, The speaker incorporates a resistant outer fabric and protectors on the sidesdesigned to absorb impacts during transport or outdoor use. LG has solved transportation with two options: a top handle to carry it horizontally and a side rope that also allows it to be carried vertically, adapting to different types of movement depending on the usage scenario.

Two woofers, three passive radiators and coverage of more than 82 square meters

In the purely acoustic section, the xboom Blast mounts two woofers and three passive radiatorsa configuration aimed at offering consistent bass even in open spaces, where sound tends to disperse much more easily than indoors.

LG ensures that the speaker can cover more than 82 square metersa figure that the company calculates taking as a reference the distance up to which the speaker maintains a maximum sound pressure level of 80 decibels.

Design inspired by a travel bag and design recognition

LG has explained that the design of the xboom Blast is inspired by a duffel travel baga reference that can be seen both in the general shape of the speaker and in the textile materials used on its exterior. That design approach has earned LG a 2026 Red Dot Design Awardone of the most relevant recognitions within the industrial design sector at an international level.

The speaker also incorporates lighting through what LG calls Dual Ring Lightinga system with AI capable of synchronizing the lighting effects with the songs, musical genres and the environment detected during playback, adding a visual component designed to reinforce the use of the xboom Blast at parties or outdoor meetings.

Dimensions, weight and availability

The xboom Blast measures 502 x 225 x 206.5 millimeters and weighs around 6.5 kilosfigures that confirm that it is a robust speaker with a physical presence, closer to a device designed to be left in the same place for hours than to be carried constantly, although its handle and carrying rope make it easy to move it when necessary.

LG has confirmed that the xboom Blast will begin arriving in select markets during August 2026, while other countries will receive it later in the same year. At the moment, the company has not communicated an official global price for this model, and the speaker does not yet appear among those available on LG’s Spanish website, so those interested in Spain will have to wait for the company to confirm both the availability and the price for the national market.
