The Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra receives the first firmware update and leaves behind errors to be corrected

Microsoft updates Surface Laptop Ultra to fix screen issues

Just a few days after its launch, Microsoft has released the first update to its Surface Laptop Ultra. A firmware update that aims to correct the reported problems with the screen, although it seems that not all of them have been solved. With this update Microsoft has managed to resolve the Flickering issues and long reboot timesbut local dimming, or the Ghosting effect, has been left behind.

The new firmware appears as a hardware update, and includes the new Surface TCON firmware, UEFI firmware, component update, and a new display driver. In addition to this, there have also been registered Stability improvements and other bug fixes.

The update does not fix Ghosting or all screen problems

But Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra users are not happy after updating to this latest version, and specify that there are still bugs to be resolved. These two problems have been solved, but others persist, such as Poor local dimming, long screen response time and so-called Ghosting.

The Surface Laptop Ultra’s battery also generates complaints

Users have also reported problems with the battery life which, with the brightness at minimum, can be extended up to 10 hours, but with maximum brightness it is considerably reduced to just under 4 and a half hours.

Microsoft has not commented on these problems at the moment, although users of this very expensive laptop hope that they will be solved soon. A platform that has started with some setbacks, including its price, but the lucky ones who have gotten one of these hope that for this price their RTX Spark laptop will be error-free.
