Thermal Grizzly launches DeltaMate MPII RL blocks with a different internal design optimized for each type of CPU (AMD or Intel)
Thermal Grizzly has introduced its new series of liquid cooling blocks for CPUs DeltaMate MPII. These are blocks that completely dispense with plastic in the critical parts, being manufactured with a nickel-plated copper base under a solid brass central body with the typical standard G1/4 threads and a borosilicate glass top cover with polished edges. The entire assembly is finished with an anodized aluminum cover, in addition to including a 3-pin ARGB lighting system to connect directly to the motherboard.
The Thermal Grizzly DeltaMate MPII have different variants depending on whether they are manufactured for Intel or AMD processors. In this way, the copper base with its fins and microchannels changes to adapt to the peculiarities of the IHS design of each brand’s processors.
Design of internal microchannels adapted to each platform
In this way, the aim is to maximize the thermal transfer surface between the IHS (the metal coating of the processor) and the water block, prioritizing the areas where the heat is concentrated more specifically on the chips.
The DeltaMate MPII AM5 Black variant (which also maintains compatibility with AM4) has an area of 25 microfins just 0.2 mm thick just above the CCDs, which are the areas that generate the greatest thermal load. For the rest of the processor, the I/O die area uses 29 fins that are thicker than 0.4 mm so as not to penalize liquid flow.
For its part, the model DeltaMate MPII Intel 1851 Black It adapts to the new Intel platform while maintaining compatibility with LGA1700. Changing the layout of the processor’s internal components, this block mounts a central array of 40 0.2mm microfins just above the CPU modules within Intel’s modular design, surrounded above and below by a total of 30 0.3mm fins to balance water pressure.
The version optimized for the AM5 socket can now be purchased in the Thermal Grizzly store for a price of 349.90 euros, while the variant for the Intel platform will arrive in stores soon.
