Valve runs out of stock of the new Steam Controller: reservations already go to 2027

Announced at the end of April and launched on May 4, the new generation of the Steam Controller has achieved great success despite its high price of 99 euros. In a market like the current one, where hardware is becoming more and more expensive due to the AI fever and the shortage of components it entails, it seems that any new launch generates great expectation and an excessive fever to obtain new products before anyone else to use or resell them.

Although Valve promised to bring more stock after the first units are sold out shortly after its launch, it does not seem to be able to cover the surprising demand that the second generation of its game controller has had (remember that the first version ended up selling for 5 euros shortly before its final cancellation).

The Steam Controller is out of stock, and reservations point to availability in 2027

Be that as it may, this situation of demand much higher than supply has meant that, today, anyone who wants to get a new generation Steam Controller through Valve will have towait until 2027 to receive it.

Currently, in Spain, the Steam Controller is out of stock and reservations are only allowed where the company itself indicates that the planned availability for orders goes until 2027. This means that, in the best case of an “early” arrival during the month of January, we would be talking about more than 6 months waiting to be eligible to receive one of these peripherals.
