The new HUAWEI brand will be called Osta and will debut with two top of the range, the O1 and the O1 Pro with wide screen
A few days ago we heard of rumors that HUAWEI was preparing a new sub-brandwho would apparently call himself Xingmang, which translates to Starlight or Starburst. The leakers soon made it clear that these English names correspond to a translation of their brand with the Chinese name Xingmang, but it finally seems that the sub-brand of the well-known HUAWEI will also have a name in English. But no, it will not be Starlight or Starburst, but the brand will be presented as Osta outside their country of origin.
Osta will be HUAWEI’s new mobile sub-brand
HUAWEI will launch this new sub-brand of mobile phones, just as Honor had a few years ago, which finally decided to strike out on its own. Osta will debut with two new phones that the new brand will position as its top-of-the-range models. These will be the Osta O1 and Osta O1 Pro.
Rumors tell some of the features of these new phones from HUAWEI’s yet to be announced second brand. He Osta O1 will surprise with a curved screen on all four sides and a large, circular rear camera module.
Osta O1 Pro: 6.39-inch screen and panoramic design
The model Osta’s O1 Pro will feature a wider screen and narrower bezelsand a strip-shaped camera island similar to that of the latest Google Pixel. The screen will be LTPS type without curved edges, with 6.39 inches and 1.5K resolution. The aspect ratio will be 16:9.5 making it one of the widescreen phones similar to the HUAWEI Pura X View.
It had previously been rumored that these Osta or Starlight phones would feature Kirin 8-series SoCs, but it seems that the leaked configurations of these Osta O1 and O1 Pro will be on par with HUAWEI’s most powerful phones. The Osta O1 Pro is said to offer 12 GB of memory with 256 or 512 GB of storage, and 16 GB of RAM with 512 GB and 1 TB. It seems that in addition to Osta, HUAWEI will also continue to offer widescreen models, and this format will not become part of the new brand.
