GMKtec will present the EVO-X5 Pro with 16-core Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 at IFA 2026
GMKtec will take advantage of IFA Berlin 2026 to globally present the EVO-X5 Proa compact computer equipped with the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor. The company has set the event for September 5.
The announcement allows us to identify the final name and the chosen platform, but leaves the complete details of the mini PC pending. GMKtec has not yet detailed the installed memory, storage, ports, cooling, dimensions or price. For this reason, the maximum capacities published by AMD should be understood as limits of the processor and not as a configuration already confirmed for the EVO-X5 Pro.
The Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 has 16 Zen 5 cores
The new team will use the top model of the Gorgon Halo professional family. He Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 It integrates 16 Zen 5 cores and 32 threads, with a base frequency of 3.1 GHz and a maximum turbo of 5.2 GHz. AMD completes the CPU with 16 MB of L2 cache and 64 MB of L3 cache.
The processor is manufactured using TSMC’s 4-nanometer FinFET node and uses a three-chip design within the same package. Its default TDP is 55 W, although AMD allows manufacturers to configure it between 45 and 120 W. This margin leaves an important decision for the sustained performance of the mini PC in the hands of GMKtec.
The cooling and power limit chosen will determine sustained performance. GMKtec has not revealed those parameters or shown the inside of the EVO-X5 Pro, and there are no official results of the finished system either.
The graphic part is integrated into the processor itself and corresponds to a Radeon 8065S with 40 compute units and a maximum frequency of 3 GHz. This GPU uses system memory and is designed to handle both graphic tasks and certain computing jobs without adding a dedicated card.
One of the most relevant elements of Gorgon Halo is its 256 bit memory controller. The Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 supports up to 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533, which can be shared between the CPU cores and the Radeon 8065S. This architecture allows you to dedicate a considerable amount of memory to graphics or AI models without incorporating separate VRAM.
The figure of 192 GB marks the maximum supported by the APU. GMKtec has not confirmed that it will market the EVO-X5 Pro with that capacity, nor has it detailed whether it will offer several versions. It has also not clarified whether the memory will be expandable, so the capacity chosen at the factory may be especially relevant.
The processor also incorporates 16 PCI Express 4.0 lanes and native controllers for two USB4 40 Gbps, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 and three USB 2.0. It is up to the manufacturer to decide how many of these connections will be physically available, how the lanes will be distributed, and what storage or expansion options the chassis will include.
PRO Features for Business Administration and Security
The PRO badge adds technologies aimed at managed environments. AMD lists compatibility with DASH for remote management, Memory Guard to protect data in memory, secure processor, firmware TPM, secure boot, and security-based virtualization.
The platform supports Windows 11 64-bit, RHEL and Ubuntu, although that list also does not confirm the system that GMKtec will deliver installed. The manufacturer must specify the software options, drivers and support offered with each commercial configuration.

GMKtec will show the EVO-X5 Pro during IFA Berlin 2026 on September 5 at 15:30 CEST. The official call places the presentation in hall 5.2, position 455. The company talks about a global launch, but has not yet indicated when sales will begin or which markets will receive the product.
Until the event is held, the only elements confirmed specifically for the EVO-X5 Pro are its name and the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor. Memory capacities seen in previous tests, possible prices and other characteristics that circulate before the presentation are left out of the official sheet. There is also no date or rate announced for Spain yet.
