GOODRAM launches the low-profile RIVAL Charge DDR5 with up to 6,800 MT/s and 64 GB kits

GOODRAM has expanded its RIVAL family with the new DDR5 Charge memory for desktop computers. The range combines low profile modules with speeds between 5,600 and 6,800 MT/scapacities of up to 32 GB per module and dual-channel kits that reach 64 GB.

The series is aimed at gaming and content creation teams, but its most practical feature is physical: the heatsink measures 32.85 mm high. This height reduces possible conflicts with large CPU coolers and allows the modules to be installed in cases where space above the DIMM slots is limited.

Speeds from 5,600 to 6,800 MT/s

GOODRAM will market individual modules of 8, 16 and 32 GB, plus two-drive kits with 16, 32 or 64 GB total capacity. The offer covers four speed tiers and various latency combinations to adapt to different platforms.

5,600 MT/s configurations are available with CL30 or CL36 latencies. At 6,000 MT/s these two options are repeated; the 6,400 MT/s level works with CL32, and the fastest models reach 6,800 MT/s with CL34 latency. The official file includes 32 and 64 GB versions in dual channel for the three upper levelsalong with individual modules intended for extensions or custom configurations.

Voltage changes with selected frequency and times. GOODRAM specifies 1.25, 1.35 and 1.45 V within the range, so check the specific reference before purchasing. The 64 GB 6,800 MT/s kit, for example, appears with the code GGCHD5-68L34/64GDC and combines two 32 GB modules with CL34.

These figures correspond to the manufacturer’s operating profiles, but the final speed depends on the processor, motherboard, BIOS version and installed configuration. Mixing modules purchased separately does not guarantee the same behavior as a jointly validated kit, even if they share a name and nominal specifications.

Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO in the same family

RIVAL Charge are compatible with Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPOthe two profile systems that allow the parameters saved by the manufacturer to be loaded from the BIOS. In this way, a compatible board can apply frequency, latencies and voltage without entering each value manually.

Activating a profile is still necessary to reach the figures announced on many platforms. If the memory is installed and the BIOS is left at its default values, the system may boot at a lower JEDEC speed. The simultaneous availability of XMP and EXPO makes it easy to use the same family with both Intel and AMD processors, as long as the board supports the chosen capacity and frequency.

GOODRAM presents the 16GB kits as entry point for a DDR5 PCwhile placing the 32 GB ones on computers that run a game along with a browser, messaging, recording and other background tasks. The 64 GB is aimed at streaming, editing, content creation, heavy game modifications, and work that keeps several demanding applications open.

The appropriate amount depends on the actual use. A larger capacity prevents resorting to the paging file when the load exceeds the available memory, but it does not by itself increase frames per second if the computer already has sufficient RAM. Frequency and latencies also influence, although the effect changes with the processor architecture and the program used.

A 32.85mm heatsink without RGB lighting

The black and red heatsink maintains the aesthetics of the RIVAL sub-brand and lacks lighting. Its 32.85mm height leaves more headroom under large air coolers than other modules with raised covers or RGB bars. The circuit board is also black, so the whole thing retains a discreet design, except for the red pieces on the cover.

The low profile can be especially useful in configurations with fans that protrude above the DIMM slots. Even so, before assembling a compact device, it is advisable to compare those 32.85 mm with the space indicated by the heatsink manufacturer. The position of the slots and the allowed height vary between plates and cooling systems.

RIVAL started as a sub-brand of GOODRAM with DDR5 SODIMM modules for notebooks and compact stations. Charge transfers that name to the desktop DIMM format, with more speeds, overclock profiles and metallic dissipation. The new range overlaps in some specifications with the existing IRDM DDR5but adopts a different visual identity and a broader offering of individual modules.

GOODRAM includes lifetime warranty and manufacturer technical support. The official website already lists all the references and their EAN codes, although it does not publish prices or a specific date of arrival in each market. Availability and cost in Spain will depend on the distributors that incorporate the new RIVAL Charge into their catalogue.
