AOC brings a 48.9-inch, 5,120 x 1,440 pixel, 240 Hz QD-OLED monitor to Gamescom

AOC has brought to Gamescom 2026 the AGON PRO AGP497UCZDa gaming monitor 48.9 inches with curved QD-OLED panel and 32:9 superwide format. The model offers a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels and a refresh rate of 240 Hz, a combination designed to have a very large image surface without giving up fluidity.

The proposal is approximately equivalent to placing two 27-inch QHD monitors next to each other, but eliminates the frame that would be in the center. AOC directs this approach especially to driving and flight simulators, in addition to open world games.

A 32:9 QD-OLED panel with 1800R curvature

The AGON PRO AGP497UCZD integrates a 48.9-inch QD-OLED panel with 1800R curvature. Its Dual QHD resolution reaches 5,120 x 1,440 pixels in 32:9 formatso it offers a large amount of horizontal space. The surface has a glossy finish with anti-reflective treatment and AOC claims viewing angles of 178 degrees.

By dividing that resolution into two halves, we obtain two areas of 2,560 x 1,440 pixelsequivalent to QHD screens. In total, the monitor represents 7,372,800 pixels.

The panel works with a 10-bit color depth and can represent 1.073 million colors. The official sheet specifies a coverage of 99.3% of the DCI-P3 space, 98.1% of Adobe RGB and 146.1% of sRGB, using the CIE 1976 reference in all three cases. Its declared static contrast is 1,500,000:1.

AOC has certified the monitor under the standard VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400. The company lists 250 nits of brightness in SDR with 100% panel illumination, 450 nits in HDR with a 10% window, and peaks of 1,000 nits with a 3% window.

The maximum frequency of 240 Hz is combined with a claimed response of 0.03 ms GtG. The manufacturer also specifies support for Adaptive Sync, which allows the panel update to be coordinated with the graphics card output to reduce image stuttering and tearing.

The wide format requires that each game correctly supports 32:9 resolutions to take advantage of the entire surface.

DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1 and a 90W USB-C

The connections section includes a DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20, two HDMI 2.1 inputs and one USB-C capable of delivering up to 90W. The latter allows image, data and power to be transmitted through a single cable, so that it can be used with compatible laptops without necessarily depending on its charger during moderate consumption tasks.

It also has a hub with three 5 Gbit/s USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a downstream USB-C connection with up to 15 W charging and a 3.5 mm headphone output. The integrated KVM switch allows keyboard and mouse sharing between two computers. They complete the team two 8W speakersLight FX backlighting and the AOC G-Menu configuration system.

AOC provides an HDMI 2.1 cable and another DisplayPort 2.1, both 1.8 meters. The box adds a USB-B to USB-A of the same length and a 1.5 meter USB-C. The monitor uses an internal power supply and has a stated typical consumption of 157W, with 0.5W standby. Its European energy classification is G.

The base allows you to adjust the height by 130 mm, tilt the screen between -5 and 20 degrees and rotate it approximately 30 degrees to each side. The set measures 1,191.8 mm wide and weighs 14.37 kg with the base, while the panel without support remains at 10.7 kg. It also supports 100 x 100mm VESA mounts.

AOC offers a three-year warranty with coverage against permanent burnout of the OLED panel, conditional on compliance with the maintenance instructions indicated by the brand. The AGON PRO AGP497UCZD will arrive on the European market in September 2026 with a recommended price of 999 euros.
