Beyond Windows and Surface: Microsoft announces another event in October to explain the future of two of its most important services

At Microsoft they are going to be very busy during this month of October. Just a few days ago, we explained to you that the company is going to hold an event focused on Windows and Surface. In it, exciting news is expected, especially considering that Jensen Huang himself, CEO of NVIDIA, will also take the stage. However, on October 20 at 6:00 p.m. peninsular time the company called us again. For what exactly?

On that occasion, Microsoft will present news related to OneDrive and Copilot. This event, titled simply “OneDrive + Copilot event“, will be completely online and free. In fact, on its official website there is a form where anyone can register to attend.

Microsoft focuses on file management, but also on photography

AI is a good tool for editing photos. In addition, Microsoft has been strengthening the image management section in OneDrive for some time. Not long ago, the company quietly installed its OneDrive Photos program, which couldn’t be removed unless the sync client was completely uninstalled.

In essence, this new application was nothing more than a webapp in which the photography section of OneDrive was encapsulated. If we take a look at the event trailer, everything we are mentioning is confirmed. In the video, barely 1 minute long, sequences related to image management appear repeatedly.

Copilot will also be very present

The title of the event leaves no room for ambiguity. Copilot will also have a prominent role in this event. Now, in the case of this event, it will not be addressed as a separate application. Actually, Microsoft’s idea is to explain how it wants to integrate AI into OneDrive and into users’ daily tasks to help them be more productive with their projects.

By the way, at the end of the event there will be an AMA session in which company officials will answer questions from attendees. According to Windows CentralJeff Teper, executive vice president of Applications and Agents at Microsoft, Adam Harmetz, corporate vice president of product for OneDrive and SharePoint, and Arwa Tyebkhan, director of product for OneDrive, are expected to attend.
