MOREORANGE PUBLISH DATA ON BLOCKS AND CONTENT RESTRICTIONS IN ITS BRANDS

MOREORANGE has added on its website a specific section dedicated to Blocking and Content Restrictionwhich affects all brands in the group, including Orange, Yoigo, Simyo, Euskaltel and R. The initiative responds to the obligation imposed by the Digital Services Law, in force since February 2024, which requires Internet providers annually informing about the requests for moderation of content received.

176 applications in a year, mostly for copyright

According to the published information, between February 17, 2024 and February 16, 2025, Masorange received a total of 176 blocking requests. Of these, the vast majority correspond to copyright infractions, mainly linked to unauthorized retransmission of sports competitions. These blockages usually affect numerous websites, including some that are not related to the indicated contents.

In addition to football -related cases, the operator also received 25 requests linked to fraud and scams, 12 for violations of consumption, 11 for non -safe products and 14 for other allegedly illicit content. There were also isolated cases of cyberviolence, infractions of intellectual and industrial property.

Blocking requests can be permanent and dynamicwhich means that they do not always refer to a single static website, but allow to update in real time the list of restricted resources. This is the case of the orders requested by LaLiga and Telefónica, which continuously affect different portals.

With this new mechanism, Masorange joins other European suppliers when making visible Internet restrictionsalthough the information offered is quite concise for users who wish to know precisely what content or services are being blocked from their connections.
