Sony launches the WF-1000XM6 Truly Wireless Earbuds and raises the bar in noise cancellation for wireless headphones

In high-end in-ear headphones it is no longer enough to sound good. People ask for real silence in transport, understandable calls on the street and a connection that is not broken by interference. With that approach, Sony presents the WF-1000XM6 Truly Wireless Earbuds, new generation of its 1000X seriesfocused on three improvements that are quickly noticeable: active cancellation, voice in calls and Bluetooth stability.

Sony assures that the WF-1000XM6 achieve a additional 25 percent noise reduction compared to the WF-1000XM5, with special attention to the mid and high range. The announcement comes with changes in processing, microphones, design and connectivity, in addition to a recommended price in Europe of 300 euros and availability during February 2026.

Active cancellation with more control and four microphones per earpiece

Noise cancellation is the big headline of the model. The WF-1000XM6 incorporates the HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3e and the Integrated Processor V2along with an adaptive optimizer that analyzes external noise and use conditions in real time. The idea is to adjust the cancellation more consistently, even when the adjustment is not perfect.

Sony also raises the capture to four microphones per earbudcompared to three in the previous model. With more inputs and finer control, the brand maintains that performance in medium and high frequencies is reinforced. The WF-1000XM6 Truly Wireless Earbuds combine two microphones and a bone conduction sensor per side, along with beamforming and noise reduction supported by AI. Sony proposes this system as a way to better isolate the voice when there are conversations, traffic or constant noise around, preventing the environment from taking over.

The goal is to improve intelligibility in typical street scenarios, where wind and friction with clothing often ruin audio capture.

More stable Bluetooth, larger antenna and preparation for LE Audio

Sony also reinforces connectivity. The company claims that it integrates an antenna 1.5 times larger than the previous model and updated algorithms to maintain a more reliable link, especially in places saturated with signals.

Furthermore, the WF-1000XM6 are declared ready for LE Audioa new generation standard that aims for lower latency. Sony links it to uses such as gaming, where the delay between image and sound is instantly noticeable.

Slimmer design, ventilation and focus on materials

In ergonomics, the brand ensures that the body of the headset is about 11 percent thinner than that of the WF-1000XM5 and that the design follows the natural shape of the ear to reduce discomfort and improve stability. It also introduces a ventilation structure to increase airflow and reduce internal noises such as footsteps or chewing sounds.

Insulation tips come in four sizes. In colors, the model is offered in Black and Platinum Silver with differentiated finishes.

In sustainability, Sony indicates that approximately 25 percent of the product’s plastics are allocated to circular material and that the packaging is plastic-free.
