A mod allows you to run NVIDIA Multi Frame Generation on the NVIDIA RTX 30

Since the launch of DLSS 5 Unofficial mods and options for games have not stopped appearing, which apply this technology even when they do not have support for it. It has even been possible to make it work in graphics of the RTX 30 and 20 seriesalthough it is officially exclusive to the RTX 50 series. Now the community has also managed to make another of NVIDIA’s technologies work on an older generation without support, the multi frame generation.

NVIDIA RTX 30 manages to run Multi Frame Generation through a mod

The modder community has managed to make the generation of multiple frames in NVIDIA RTX 30 Series graphics. An option that is exclusively linked to the NVIDIA RTX 50 Seriesand which is now also available in graphics from two generations earlier thanks to the project DLSSG SM86. This time it is not another mod that replaces AMD FSR with DLSS, but rather they have managed to make NVIDIA’s own technology work on previous RTX graphics models.

For this, a proxy next to the game which redirects requests to a DLSSG 310.1 runtime environment, and provides a backend compatible with SM86 so that it works on the NVIDIA RTX 30. In addition, the possibility of entering the maximum number of frames that you want to generate with the command has also been modified MaxGeneratedFrames.

This calls into question whether the Multi-frame generation is restricted by hardware or for other reasons. This has shown that it is possible to run not only on the NVIDIA RTX 40 Series, which at the moment have frame generation, but on the NVIDIA RTX 30 Serieswhich lack official support for this technology.

With the MFG activatedthe developer of this mod has managed to increase the FPS from 50 to 80 and 120 with 2x and 4x mode respectively in Black Myth: Wukong. In Cyberpunk with raytracing it has gone from having 35 FPS without MFG at 60 and up to 132 with the same modes. But when activating DLSS 5 together with the generation of multiple framesthe game stops running smoothly.
