A new emulator allows you to run some PlayStation 5 games on the Xbox Series
A few days ago we told you how PlayStation 5 emulation It was advancing rapidly, to offer more fluid games when playing games on this latest Sony console. PS5 emulation has taken another step and now there are some titles of this console that can even be played directly on your Xbox Series Xalthough at the moment this emulator is in the experimental phase. It is an adaptation of the well-known KyTyPS5adapted to run on Microsoft console hardware.
PS5X allows you to run PS5 games on Xbox Series
It has been the developer Devran Cosmo Uenal who has adapted this free source version of the PS5 emulator KytyPS5 for the Microsoft console, which has given rise to this version called PS5X. At the moment, this new PS5X emulator runs in developer mode and can currently play some games. Among them, they have been successfully tested GEX Trilogy, Hellboy: Web of Wyrd, Marvel Cosmic Invasion and Quake II.
During testing, these games have recognized the Xbox controller and some of these even offer audio, with Quake II it has been possible to offer a more playable FPS rate between 25 and 45 FPS. The emulator is another community project that aims to offer broader use of your Xbox Series X consolea door to run homemade software and your backups of your PS5 games.
PS5X needs to translate Vulkan to DirectX to work on Xbox
But to offer better compatibility, they must overcome the problem of graphics engine. KytyPS5 uses Vulkan in its PC version, but Xbox does not have compatibility with it. The only way is to translate from Vulkan to DirectXeliminating the advantages offered in the PC version until this translation can be improved.
