Alphacool Core 2 LT: 25mm copper radiator and 3,800 RPM PWM pump

Alphacool Core 2 LT: 25mm copper radiator and 3,800 RPM PWM pump

Alphacool has presented the Core 2 LTa new all-in-one liquid cooling for processors that takes over from the Eisbaer LT. The German company directs this family to those looking for a simple and compact assembly, with special attention to small boxes and configurations in which the space around the radiator and the block is decisive.

The launch comes in two sizes, 240 and 360 mmand combines parts from the brand’s personalized refrigeration catalog with a pre-assembled assembly. This choice allows you to maintain the comfort of an AIO and leaves open the possibility of expanding the circuit later. The radiator is only 25 mm thick, one of the keys to the design.

A copper radiator designed for boxes with little space

The dissipation falls on an Alphacool NexXxoS ST25 Full Copper. As its name indicates, the radiator is made entirely of copper, while its low profile reduces the volume occupied inside the device. It is an important detail when the top or front part of the box offers little margin and any millimeter conditions the installation of the rest of the components.

Alphacool offers a 240mm and a 360mm variant. The first uses two 120mm fans and facilitates fitting into chassis with less available length; the second uses three units and requires a larger mounting area. The choice will depend on the compatibility of the box and the needs of the processor, since the manufacturer has not provided thermal capacity figures or comparative results in the advertisement material.

The included fans are 120mm Core series and reach up to 2,500 RPM. Its function is to move air through the low-height radiator, but there is still a lack of public data on noise, static pressure and performance curves that allow assessing the behavior of the set compared to other AIOs. The presentation describes the product as a balanced solution between cooling, space and price, without supporting that statement with independent testing.

The new Core DC-LT 3 pump reaches up to 3,800 RPM

Pump and block form a compact unit to take up as little space as possible around the base. Inside it works the new Core DC-LT 3 PWM, capable of reaching 3,800 RPM and adjust its speed depending on the system load using PWM control. Thus, the motherboard can govern its regime within the curve configured by the user.

Contact with the processor is made through a cold copper plate. Alphacool has concentrated that piece and the pump into a sober-looking block, topped by blue LED lighting. There is no screen or complex RGB system on the cover, a consistent decision with the aim of reducing size and maintaining a discreet aesthetic.

The adjustable speed provides room to adapt the operation of the circuit to different scenarios, although 3,800 RPM represents only the maximum of the pump. For now, no flow rate, pressure, loudness or consumption of this Core DC-LT 3 have been provided.so we will have to wait for measurements to know how much improvement compared to the unit used in the Eisbaer LT.

TPV tubes and swivel fittings for easy assembly

The circuit is completed with 320 mm long TPV flexible tubes and swivel fittings. Both elements help orient the connections without forcing uncomfortable paths, something especially useful when the pump, memory, graphics card and radiator are very close together in a compact box. The black tube also maintains the contained aesthetics of the set.

The Core 2 LT shares components with Alphacool’s custom cooling range. The manufacturer points out that The system can be expanded when necessarya relevant difference for anyone who wants to modify the circuit in the future. The ad does not detail which additional parts are compatible or the expansion procedure, so it is a good idea to check connections, fluid and maintenance requirements before making changes.

Alphacool identifies the 240 mm Core 2 LT with the reference 14621 and the 360 mm version with the 14622. Both are now available through the company store and have their own documentation in their official download center.

The prices are 149.98 euros for the 240 mm version and 164.98 euros for the 360 mm version.
