D-Link presents six WiFi routers and extenders: from N300 to AX3000 with WPA3

D-Link has presented the S series, a new family of routers and extenders aimed at those looking for a simple home network at a reasonable price. The catalog is made up of four routers, from a basic N300 model to another AX3000 with WiFi 6accompanied by two repeaters intended to expand coverage without replacing the main equipment.

The variety also forces us to look carefully at the name of each model, because within the same family three generations of wireless connectivity and Ethernet ports of different speeds coexist. The four routers share several operating modes, while the entire range incorporates simplified configuration and security measures adapted to European regulations.

Four routers from N300 to AX3000 with WiFi 6

The S30 It occupies the first place in the range with dual-band WiFi 6 and AX3000 category. It reaches up to 2,402 Mbps in 5 GHz and 574 Mbps in 2.4 GHz, theoretical figures that depend on the connected device and the environment. It has four adjustable external antennas, a Gigabit WAN port and three Gigabit LAN connections.

Also incorporates OFDMA and MU-MIMO to better organize traffic when several devices are connected. D-Link targets large homes, content streaming and video games, although effective coverage will depend on factors such as room layout, wall materials and router placement.

One step below appears the S15also compatible with WiFi 6, but limited to the AX1500 category. It offers up to 1,201 Mbps in the 5 GHz band and 300 Mbps in 2.4 GHz. It maintains the four external antennas, OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies and the same distribution of one WAN and three LAN ports, all of them Gigabit.

He S12 reduces the wireless standard to WiFi 5 with an AC1200 configuration. Its maximum speeds are 867 Mbps in 5 GHz and 300 Mbps in 2.4 GHz. It retains four adjustable antennas, MU-MIMO and the four Gigabit ports of the previous model, so it can be used for wired equipment even without WiFi 6.

As an entry option is the S03an N300 router that works only at 2.4 GHz and reaches up to 300 Mbps. It uses two external antennas and its wired connections are also more modest: one WAN port and two LANs limited to 100 Mbps. It is a device designed for basic needs, where this limitation can become a bottleneck with Internet access greater than 100 Mbps.

The SE30 and SE15 expand the coverage of an existing network

The family is completed with two WiFi 6 extenders. He SE30 uses an AX3000 configuration and is the highest speed option, while the SE15 down to AX1500. Both are designed to bring the signal to rooms where the main router does not offer a stable connection, without requiring the replacement of the installed network.

D-Link details more features of the SE15. This model provides up to 1,201 Mbps in 5 GHz and 300 Mbps in 2.4 GHz, incorporates two external antennas and applies OFDMA and MU-MIMO. In addition, it includes a Gigabit LAN port to connect a television, computer or console by cable from the repeater location.

An LED indicator shows the strength of the received signal and helps you choose a suitable socket. Placing it too far from the router would allow you to see the network, but would repeat an already weakened connection, so this visual reference is especially useful during installation.

Routers support Router, Bridge and Repeater modes. The first creates and manages the network from the modem connection; Bridge allows you to use the device as a wired access point; and Repeater extends an existing wireless network. This flexibility avoids reserving each piece of equipment for a single function.

The series incorporates WPA3 encryptiona separate network for guests and compliance with EN 18031, the European standard that establishes cybersecurity requirements for connected radio equipment. All four routers and the SE15 also receive automatic firmware updates via FOTA, reducing the need to search for and install each version manually.

Configuration is done with D-Link SetupGoavailable for Android and iOS. The app offers basic controls, while advanced options remain in the web interface. Its administration works through local access: the phone must be connected to the product’s network and you cannot change its settings from an external connection.

D-Link will start distribute some models through Amazon in Europe during August 2026. The full range will hit the European market in Septemberthe same month chosen for its launch in Australia and Taiwan.

The company has not yet communicated prices for Spain and warns that both the cost and availability will change depending on the market. Therefore, despite presenting the series as an affordable alternative, it remains to be known how much each router and extender will cost before assessing its position compared to other home solutions with WiFi 5 and WiFi 6.
