Intel Nova Lake will be manufactured in TSMC to 2 nanometers, according to Trendforce

The TrendForce analysts has assured in its latest report of the state of the main semiconductor companies, which Intel will join AMD and Apple as the primar clients that will use the company’s 2 node node.

Moreover, it seems that the manufacturing process of the first test wafers in the TSMC facilities in Hsinchu has already begun, in order to manufacture with those 2 nanometers the Computer module of the company’s Nova Lake processors.

Interestingly, the 2NM TSMC process is expected to enter large -scale production during the second half of this year, the same temporary window as the Intel 18A node with which the processors company would compete with TSMC, with, according to the company itself, an improvement of 25% in speed and 36% in consumption.

The reasons why Intel would opt for the TSMC node instead of his Intel A18 node could be several, including a design issue of the Nova Lake Computing Module itself already oriented towards the use of the TSMC N2 process. We must not forget that, according to previous information, Phatar Lake will be the first chips that will be manufactured with Intel 18A.

The arrival of Nova Lake is scheduled for the year 2026, if this information is met, the trend that Intel began with the outsourcing of the manufacture of part of the Lake Lake and Arrow Lake chips in TSMC would remain with this new generation.
