The AMD Threadripper 9985W processor with 64 Zen 5 cores is filtered
The existence of a new processor of the AMD Threadripper range has been leaked after appearing in the documentation associated with merchandise shipments. This is the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9985WX of the “Shimada Peak” family, a 64 -core model that would use a new SP9 socket with 350 W TDPS for a new high -end equipment platform or “Hedt” for enthusiasts.
This AMD RYZEN THREADRIPPER 9985WX would offer the Zen 5 architecture in its 64 coresthat with SMT would stay in 128 execution threads. Information that agrees with previous leaks from the Shimada Peak family.
Next to him, more modest models such as the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9955wx have also appeared with “only” 16 cores and the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9945Wx with 12 cores. PREVIOUS FAVES had seen models that would remain in the middle, with 32 cores (AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9975WX) and AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9965Wx of 24 cores.
The most powerful model, however, would be a monstrosity of 96 cores and 192 threads that leaked, also in a shipment, last summer. This model would have the denomination of AMD RYZEN THREADRIPPER 9995W PRO.
We will have to wait for AMD to announce these processors officially to see the resurgence of Hedt platforms with current architectures.
